Pieces with a long life ahead

Why we're called Tenon

The joint that holds everything together.

A tenon is a tongue of wood cut to fit tightly into a matching pocket, the mortise. Glued and pinned with a hardwood peg, it locks two parts together without a single screw, and it has held furniture together for thousands of years.

Every piece we make is built around joints like this, cut and fitted by hand, so it can be repaired and passed down instead of replaced.

Good questions

Still deciding? Send us a photo of your room and its measurements and we'll help you pick the right size.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?

Most pieces are built and delivered within 6 to 8 weeks of approving your drawing. Large dining tables and custom sizes can take longer, and we'll tell you up front.

Can I change the size or the wood?

Yes. Most designs can be adjusted in length, width and height, and each is offered in walnut, white oak, cherry or ash. Send your measurements and we'll confirm what's possible before you pay.

Will I see my piece before it ships?

You approve a dimensioned drawing before any wood is cut, get photo updates during the build, and see final photos before it's crated.

How is it delivered?

Each piece ships in a wooden crate and arrives assembled wherever possible. Delivery is free within the contiguous United States.

What if it arrives damaged?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and your order number, and we'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund.
